Where Light Meets Matter
Light and perspective transform everyday objects into abstract forms.
Where Light Meets Matter is an abstract photography series by Dan Gazit that explores how light and perspective can transform ordinary objects into unfamiliar visual experiences.
By shifting viewpoint and using controlled lighting, Gazit detaches objects from their original context. Common materials and domestic elements are reinterpreted through unusual angles and illumination, revealing hidden structures and unexpected visual identities.
Surfaces that appear simple at first glance become complex and ambiguous. A sand surface can resemble a metallic landscape, kitchen utensils turn into architectural formations, and everyday objects take on organic or even cosmic qualities.
The series examines perception itself—how light, angle, and context influence what we see. Through this process, the familiar becomes strange, and the ordinary is redefined as a source of visual discovery.
