Night Scenes

In darkness, light traces space and sets the rhythm.

Night Scenes is a photographic series by Dan Gazit focusing on the presence of light within darkness.

Captured exclusively using existing light sources, the images reveal how streetlamps, reflections, illuminated surfaces, and passing glows define space at night. No artificial lighting is introduced; each photograph is shaped entirely by the available environment.

In these works, light functions not only as illumination but as a structural element. It divides the frame, creates rhythm, and directs the viewer’s attention. At times, the light appears as abstract lines or painterly gestures, transforming ordinary scenes into minimal compositions.

Through this restrained approach, the series invites a slower, more attentive gaze—revealing how even the smallest point of light can construct an entire visual experience
